Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026
Read Fast runs entirely on your device. It has no account, no analytics, and no server — there is nothing for us to collect.
What Read Fast collects
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, and no crash reporting. The app does not send your books, your reading activity, or anything else to us or to anyone else. We do not operate a server that receives your data, because there is nothing to receive.
There is one exception, and only if you choose it: the optional advertising video described under Advertising below.
What is stored, and where
Everything Read Fast saves stays in its own private storage area on your device:
- Books you add. When you add a book, the file is copied into the app's private storage so it stays available. That copy never leaves your device.
- Your reading position in each book, and when you last read it.
- Your settings — reading speed, font size, and light/dark theme.
- When a free Premium pass, if you have earned one, runs out.
Deleting a book from your library deletes the copy. Uninstalling Read Fast removes all of it.
Depending on your device settings, this data may be included in the backups your operating system makes (Android Auto Backup, or iCloud/iTunes backup on iOS). Those backups are handled by Google or Apple under their own privacy policies, not by us.
Advertising
Read Fast shows no ads while you read. There are no banners and no ads that appear on their own.
The app offers one thing: if you are on the free Basic plan, you can choose to watch a single video advertisement and unlock Premium features for 3 hours. Nothing happens unless you tap that offer and confirm it.
When you do, the video is supplied by Google AdMob. To select and measure the ad, Google receives information from your device, including your device's advertising ID, IP address, device model and operating system version, and approximate location derived from that IP address. Google uses this under its own privacy policy and its advertising terms. We never see this information, and it is never combined with your books or your reading.
Some control over this sits outside the app:
- If you never tap the offer, no advertising SDK ever starts and none of the above happens.
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads lets you delete or opt out of your advertising ID. iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- In the European Economic Area and the UK you are asked for consent before any ad is requested, and you can change that answer by starting the offer again.
Read Fast does not use advertising to track you across other apps or websites, and does not call Apple's App Tracking Transparency, because it does not do that kind of tracking.
Permissions
- Choosing a file. Read Fast uses your system's own file picker. It only ever receives the single file you pick. It does not request access to your storage, photos, contacts, camera, location, or microphone.
- Network access. The app uses the internet for two things: the in-app purchase system, and fetching a video if you ask for one. Reading itself is entirely offline.
- Advertising ID
(
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_IDon Android). Declared by the Google AdMob component, and used only as described above.
Purchases
If you buy a Premium subscription, the purchase is handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. Read Fast never sees your card details, billing address, or any other payment information — it only receives a yes/no answer as to whether a subscription is active, which it stores on your device. Data those stores collect when processing a payment is covered by Google's and Apple's privacy policies.
Children
Read Fast is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone of any age. Because it can show an advertisement when asked, it is not suitable for the Google Play Families programme or Apple's Kids Category.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the date at the top will be updated.
